FDP Institute Information Session October 2021 Exam

The Financial Data Professional Institute (FDPI), established by CAIA Association, has designed a self-study program to provide financial professionals with an efficient path to learn the essential aspects of financial data science.  The Financial Data Professional (FDP) is a global designation for investment professionals with data science skills.

FDPI Executive Director Mehrzad Mahdavi, FDPI Sr. Curriculum Advisor Hossein Kazemi, and FDP Charterholder Aaron Filbeck will share how you can obtain your Financial Data Professional credential.
Formal remarks of the presentation will last approximately 45 minutes, with 15 minutes for Q&A.

Mehrzad Mahdavi
Executive Director @FDP Institute
Dr. Mahdavi is a technology entrepreneur with a focus on breakthrough digital transformation for the Fintech and the energy sectors. He is a recognized expert and frequent keynote speaker on the application of AI, IoT, and Cloud computing in the financial sector and industries. Dr. Mahdavi managed major global businesses in the energy sector. Dr. Mahdavi is a trusted advisor for global 500 firms in the field of digital transformation. Prior to this position, he served as the Chief Digital Officer of Weatherford International. He also had and a 22-year career in Schlumberger in a variety of technical and management positions. Mehrzad holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Science and Technology from the University of Michigan a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Hossein Kazemi
Sr. Advisor @CAIA Association and FDP Institute
Dr. Hossein Kazemi, Ph.D., CFA, is the Sr. Advisor to the FDP Program. Dr. Kazemi assists with the development of the CAIA and FDP program curriculum, he serves as the editor of Alternative Investment Analyst Review, which is published by the CAIA Association. Dr. Kazemi has been involved in the CAIA Association since inception as a senior adviser and board member. Dr. Kazemi is a Professor of Finance at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Kazemi is currently the Director of the Center for International Securities & Derivatives Markets, a nonprofit organization devoted to research in the area of alternative investments, a co-founder of the CAIA Association, and home to CISDM Hedge Fund/CTA Database and the Journal of Alternative Investments, the official research publication of the CAIA Association. He has a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Michigan. Dr. Kazemi lives in Northampton, MA, with his wife and son.
Aaron Filbeck, CFA, CAIA, CIPM, FDP
Director, Global Content Development @CAIA Association
Aaron Filbeck serves as Director, Global Content Development at CAIA Association, where he is responsible for CAIA’s continuing education efforts and content strategy. A demonstrated writer, Aaron has published on topics such as ESG investing, liquid alts, commodities, and asset pricing/factor investing. Most recently, he co-authored a paper, “Performance Assessment of Firms Following Sustainalytics ESG Principles,” in The Journal of Investing. Aaron earned a B.S. with distinction in Finance and a Master of Finance from Penn State University. His holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM), and Financial Data Professional (FDP) designations. He is President of CFA Society Columbus and serves on multiple advisory boards for the Sam & Irene Black School of Business at Penn State University.
