Hossein Kazemi
Senior Advisor @FDP Institute
Dr. Hossein Kazemi, Ph.D., CFA, is the Sr. Advisor to the FDP Program. Dr. Kazemi assists with the development of the CAIA and FDP program curriculum, he serves as the editor of Alternative Investment Analyst Review, which is published by the CAIA Association. Dr. Kazemi has been involved in the CAIA Association since inception as a senior adviser and board member. Dr. Kazemi is a Professor of Finance at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Kazemi is currently the Director of the Center for International Securities & Derivatives Markets, a nonprofit organization devoted to research in the area of alternative investments, a co-founder of the CAIA Association, and home to CISDM Hedge Fund/CTA Database and the Journal of Alternative Investments, the official research publication of the CAIA Association. He has a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Michigan.
Joanne Murphy
Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Industry Relations @CAIA Association
Jo has been based in Asia, predominately in Hong Kong, for over 20 years. During her tenure she has held a number of senior management positions, leading sales, business development, marketing, and CRM divisions and has both built and managed large and effective regionally-located teams. After moving to Hong Kong with Morgan Stanley, Jo also worked for both HSBC and Deutsche Bank covering intermediary, buy and sell side roles and held an entrepreneurial position at Triple A Partners. She now focuses on the education environment. All these roles have had a consistent focus on the Alternative Investment industry. Jo enjoys the reputation of being capable, committed, and commercial, was voted “Asia’s most influential woman in AI” and one of “The 25 most influential people in Asian hedge funds.” She is a founding member of Hong Kong’s AIMA Chapter, holds a number of Board positions, and is a Fellow of UniSIM University.
Kim Durand
Project and General Operations Manager @FDP Institute
Kim is the Project & General Operations Manager at the FDP Institute, leading operations, and owning the master project plan for program implementation. Kim has a history in management and administration in the telecommunications and millimeter wave technology industries. Kim was Director of Operations, Director of Sales and Senior Sales Executive at Normandeau Technologies, a privately held provider of telecommunications equipment and services. Previously Kim was Project Manager and Sales Coordinator for Telaxis Communications, a publicly held millimeter wave designer and equipment manufacturer for broadband wireless access market. Most recently Kim served as Manager of Special Projects and Executive Assistant at CAIA Association, managing high-level international projects throughout the association while supporting the CEO, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Kim has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and International Relations minor from Bucknell University.
